A Beginners Guide To Dosing CBD
In this article, we will talk about different ways to consume Cannabidiol (CBD) and the recommended dosing. CBD is currently legal in the UK as long as it has a no more than 0.2% Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive compound which gives you the intense mind-altering experience (high).
Since CBD has been made legal in the UK market it has exploded with the older generation being the leading consumers. Unfortunately, the laws and legislations associated with marketing CBD are very stringent at the moment so we are unable to talk about the medicinal benefits.
The 4 main consumptions methods we will touch on today are:
– Vaporising
– Sublingual (under the tongue)
– Oral ingestion (capsules/eating)
– Topical creams
Vaporising
By using this method of ingestion you are allowing CBD to be delivered into your bloodstream via your lungs. Within seconds of the vapour hitting your lungs, the CBD will have transferred into your bloodstream circulating all around your body and you will feel effects almost instantly.
Vaping is a much safer way of ingesting CBD compared to smoking as you are avoiding all the harmful toxins and carcinogens that come from smoking. Although the effects are present almost immediately they do not last for very long, 1 to 2 hours. Our E-Liquids are manufactured to be vaped neat but can be mixed if preferred.
CBD Dosing: Take one/two inhales, wait a couple of hours before taking another, continue this for a week then increase to three as so on until you feel the effects have hit a plateau.
Sublingual
When oils are ingested sublingually they should be held under the tongue for a minimum of 60-90 seconds. This ensures maximum absorption through the sublingual glands.
When used sublingually, the oil is absorbed through the mucous membrane under the tongue. As it is quite thin the oil enters your bloodstream rather quick making it an efficient cannabinoid delivery route.
Administered this way you can expect results to take effect within 5 to 20 mins and lasting 2 to 4 hours depending on the individual. Our oils use Medium-Chain Triglyceride (MCT) oil, this is a purified form of saturated fatty acids which is directly metabolised into energy allowing for the rapid release of CBD.
CBD Dosing: One to two drops under your tongue after breakfast and dinner. Stay at this dose for 1 week and then increase to 3 or 4 drops then after a week dose with lunch as well. Continue this pattern until the effects reach a plateau.
Ingestion
When ingesting CBD the effects are longer lasting 4-6 hours but take up to 90 minutes to be metabolised. One main benefit with gummies is precise dosing, they are machine manufactured so they will be very accurate. Another is that they are tasteless, many people HATE the taste of raw CBD oil which to be honest does taste horrible! For this reason we
stock two different flavour tinctures Lemon and Peppermint.
Our CBD gummies contain 25mg per gummy and are 100% vegan friendly. When searching for the right CBD gummies to fit your needs, you might be enticed by a special fruity flavour or a unique gummy shape. However, there’s more to take into consideration, including extract type, strength, and quality assurance. In form of a Thrid-Party lab test.
CBD Dosing: Take 1 gummy daily for the first 3 days. If needed, slowly build up to 3 gummies taken 3 times per day, spread evenly throughout the day.
How to track efficiently
Make a note of areas you wish to see change and mark how they feel out of 10, 10 being high and 1 low before dosing and about 15 minutes after the onset time stated previously in this article. Continue to do this until you notive the effects hit a plateau.
